Costa Ricai kávékóstolo Pécs Egyetemben, Február 2026.

Costa Rican coffee tasting at the University of Pécs, February 2026.

At a coffee tasting, we expect pastries, good coffee and smiles, but above all, warm-hearted, curious people who want to learn more about the distinctive taste of coffee, in this case the specialty of Flor D Cafe. At the tasting held at the University of Pécs, in addition to coffee, the participants could also taste the Pura Vida culture typical of Costa Ricans.

I started the presentation with the secret of the Blue Zone, the Nicoya Peninsula. Why do people there live longer and happier lives?... Because they make time for coffee, and they use this time to listen to their family and guests. The essence of coffee is to immerse ourselves in the flavors, to share and enjoy the company, to listen to each other.

Next, we introduced a Costa Rican coffee , Finca El Venado, Cosecha 2025, with a light roast and filter ground to better capture the aroma concentrated in the golden bean. Filtered coffee should be coarsely ground and allowed to slowly permeate the individual grains with warm water, gently and patiently releasing its delicate flavor.

Afterwards, we tasted a medium roast coffee, from the same crop, but now with the classic Hungarian method, in the form of an espresso, to better enjoy its intense body, spicy acidity, and the balanced sweetness of panela and caramel. With this taste in our mouths, and a typical Costa Rican dance, we increased our energy levels and turned up the mood to the music of Orianna Chacón, Grano Verde.

We let the caffeine penetrate from head to toe and let go of the daily stress a little.

Thus ended the tasting, with a great round of applause for the brave dancers and students who gathered for an afternoon of good coffee and good company.

Thank you to Pécs for hosting us, I hope we see you again!

Best regards,

Iris Melendez
